چکیده

The first clear description of the human endometrium in the several phases of the menstrual cycle (Hitschmann and Adler7) embodied the morphological features considered today to be characteristic of each stage of the cycle. These structural entities induded not only differences in the thickness of the endometrium but also heightening of the epithelium and edema, now known to be evoked by estrogenic hormone, and sacculation of the endometrial glands, now known to be dependent upon the presence of progestin. In addition to these conspicuous and universally known characters, Hitschmann and Adler also described and illustrated striking differences in the size and structure of the stromal cells of the endometrium at different stages in the cycle. These cells in the postmenstrual endometrium were described as being small with dense, frequently fusiform, small nuclei. During the growth period these cells enlarge somewhat and their nuclei become less dense and more vesicular. During the premenstrual period they become quite large and resemble young decidual cells. Early in the course of the endocrine analysis of the menstrual cycle in the human being and in the monkey emphasis was placed upon the more conspicuous tissue changes while cytological changes

بررسی ایمونوهیستوشیمی بروز گیرنده‌های استروژن و پروژسترون در انواع هیپرپلازی و کارسینوم آندومتریویید آندومتر

Background: Endometrial carcinoma (EC) is the most common gynecologic malignancy however, mechanisms underlying its pathogenesis remain obscure. Endometrial carcinoma has been classified into two major categories: type I (related to estrogen or endometrioid adenocarcinoma) and type II (unrelated to estrogen). Estrogen is the main trigger for the abnormal proliferation in the endometrial epithel...

Hormonal regulation and localization of estrogen, progestin and androgen receptors in the endometrium of nonhuman primates: effects of progesterone receptor antagonists.

This article reviews the effects of estradiol (E(2)), progesterone (P) and P receptor antagonists (PA) on the rhesus macaque endometrium. Ovariectomized macaques can be treated with implants of estradiol (E(2)) and P to induce precisely controlled, artificial menstrual cycles. During these cycles, treatment with E(2) alone induces an artificial proliferative phase marked by extensive endometria...

بررسی توزیع گیرنده‌های استروژن و پروژسترون در ضایعات Epulis Fissuratum

Statement of Problem: Epulides Fissurata (EF) are common proliferative and denture- induced lesions of the oral cavity with a predilection for female. This suggests a possible role for sex steroid hormones in the development and progression of these lesions. Purpose: The objective of this study was the immunohistochemical evaluation of epulis fissuratum of the oral cavity for estrogen and proge...

The Correlation between the Endometrial Integrins and Osteopontin Expression with Pinopodes Development in Ovariectomized Mice in Response to Exogenous Steroids Hormones

Background: The ovariectomized animals are good models to evaluate the effect of different steroid hormone treatments on implantation events and the pattern of integrin expression. Therefore, this study was performed to compare the expression of integrins and osteopontin (OPN) in correlation with pinopode development in ovariectomized mice endometrium which was subjected to steroid hormones. Me...

I-44: Long-Term Sequelae of Polycystic OvarySyndrome: Gynecological Cancer

Women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) have been reported to be at increased risk of a number of gynecological neoplasias, including endometrial, breast, and ovarian cancer. The data supporting an increased risk is almost entirely inferential, based primarily on small case series or shared risk factors. One of the difficulties in exploring the association between these cancers and PCOS, is...
